Dr. Sydney Schmitz

A proud native of the area, Dr. Sydney Schmitz has deep roots in the community she serves. After earning her undergraduate degree from the University of Florida, she completed her dental training at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, consistently ranked among the nation’s top programs.

Dr. Schmitz is known for her gentle touch, clear communication, and dedication to patient comfort. She takes pride in helping each person feel confident about their dental care while building relationships that last.

Away from the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Dr. Nicholas Funyak, their golden retriever, Lola, and their families. Whether cheering on the Gators or Wolverines, or enjoying a day on the water, she finds joy in the Florida lifestyle she shares with her patients.

Dr. Nicholas Funyak

Dr. Nicholas Funyak provides comprehensive general dentistry with a special focus on cosmetic and surgical care. He earned his undergraduate degree in cellular biology while playing collegiate baseball at the University of Puget Sound and later completed his dental degree at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry.

Following graduation, he advanced his skills at the San Antonio VA’s top-ranked residency program, where he had the privilege of serving veterans with complex dental needs. Today, he offers a full scope of treatments, including implants, crowns, veneers, clear aligners, and full-mouth rehabilitation.

Outside the office, Dr. Funyak enjoys golf, travel, and time with his wife, Dr. Sydney Schmitz, and their dog, Lola. Patients appreciate his approachable style, attention to detail, and commitment to care that feels both professional and personal.
